This is an activity designed for students to explore the binomial and geometric distributions without the formality. It is one of the alternate activities from the 3rd edition of TPS.
My class completed the activity earlier this week. Afterward, I was able to discuss binomial and geometric distributions and reference the probabilities calculated from the activity. It went over extremely well.
Enjoy!!

This is an in-class activity for AP Statistics. I would suggest laminating the signs so they will last longer. Post these signs around your room. Students will choose a sign, go to it, and work the probability problem. Then they will find their answer on another sign in the room. If they have worked all of the problems correctly, they will find themselves back at their original starting place at the end. Submitted by Druin
